Bristol Zoo Gardens is the fifth oldest zoo in the world. They opened their doors on Monday 11th July 1836 and since then have welcomed over 90 million guests. They have helped save over 175 species from extinction in human care and in the wild.
By having our wedding here we are happy to be contributing in a small way to their animal conservation around the world.
About the ZooThere are a number of free reserved spaces available in the zoo car park. These will be first come, first serve. Otherwise parking will be available at the normal zoo rate for the day. The zoo car park is not available for use overnight.
There is additional free weekend parking along College Road.
There are very few hotels close to the venue although there are plenty in and around the city. We don’t have any recommendations but here are a few suggestions.
Avon Gorge Hotel
We request that guests arrive at 12:45pm so that the ceremony can begin at 13:00pm
Following the ceremony a drinks reception will be held downstairs and guests will be able to roam the Zoo until the Wedding Breakfast
The wedding breakfast will begin about 15:30pm, there will be 3 courses and wine available on the table as well as non alcoholic alternatives.
Speeches will be given between the second and third courses.
The MenuWe welcome evening guests to join the party on the ground floor of the pavilion. A selection of buffet food will be provided and there is a bar if you wish to purchase drinks.
During the evening there will be cake cutting, our first dance, a band, a photobooth and the zoo grounds will be open after hours.

Our Virgin Holiday Honeyfund2 months following our wedding at Bristol Zoo we will be leaving for 12 days for an adventure at the most magical place on earth - Disney World Florida.
We will depart on the 13th of September from Gatwick airport and be staying in Disney's Caribbean beach hotel. Hopefully Jack Sparrow will make an appearance. There is also a day trip to NASA for Tim's benefit and perhaps Hannah will even learn something!
We will return fat(ter) and happy after hopefully having had the holiday of a lifetime.
